Lewes Exiles |
Martin Carthy heads the list of the great and good of British folk music who
take a reduced fee to perform at The Royal Oak in Lewes, one of the
longest-running folk clubs in the country. This is due in large measure to
Vic & Tina Smith’s unswerving commitment to our native music, together with
co-resident musicians of the highest calibre, some or all of whom will be
performing on the night. |

Ewan D. Rodgers |
Whether drawing on the singing tradition of his native Yorkshire or in his
distinctive take on American roots music, his assured vocal style and
multi-instrumental dexterity are a delight. He already has record contract,
unsurprising given his burgeoning local reputation. |

Caroline Kendall |
Already with two self-penned albums to her name Caroline is currently
working on a long-cherished project to record a collection of traditional
songs from both sides of the Atlantic. During an Italian tour one local
review described her guitar technique as “incredible” and her voice as
“dizzyingly mind-boggling” - and it’s hard to disagree. |
